Fear Factor
How tight your bum puckers when attempting to conquer an extreme obstacle for the first time.
Flares
plastic/metal extensions added to fenders to shroud tires. Extended flares are often needed to remain street legal.
Flat-Top
A piston without a dish or dome, although it usually has valve relief’s machined into the top.
Flex
Shorthand for axle articulation. The action of the suspension conforming to terrain.
Flip-n-go
Being recovered to the up right position and continuing on with the trail.
Fragged
see also grenade. (1) To break something beyond repair. (2) To expel gaseous emissions without acknowledging those around you.
Full-Floater
A rear-end design in which the axles do not carry the weight of the vehicle. This is the preferred setup for wheeling because if the axle breaks, the vehicle can still roll freely.
Fullsize
Usually the largest pickup truck a manufacturer makes for the public. The term has been used rather loosely in recent years as vehicles have become smaller. A Toyota T100 is called a fullsize even though many would argue it is not big enough.
