Cage
A system of tubes or bars built either inside or outside your vehicle to protect you.
Cake
A term used to describe the viscosity state of off-road dirt/mud and the effects that results from it Ex: Adj - That mud looks awfully cakey. Ex: V - Don’t go through there too slow or your tires will cake up too fast. Ex: N - Aww damn I got that cake all over my shoes...
Calendar Queens
Calendar Queens and Mod-Squad are nearly the same thing except a Calendar Queen is always a CJ, YJ or TJ. They usually have a ton of chrome and no trail badges.
Capsize
Flipping up-side down. Also known as playing dead
Carnage
Major trail damage done to any part of the Jeep.
Center of Gravity (COG)
The imaginary point where all of the vehicle’s weight is concentrated. Becomes important when traveling off camber as a high COG, such as found in heavily lifted vehicles, will increase the risk of tipping and rolling.
Conquistidor
Senior off-roader has conquered most of local obstacles.
Cornbinder
Slang for any truck made by International Harvester because the company is known for its farming equipment. These trucks are also referred to as Binders.
Crap
adjective - describing an incident that you have done or someone else has done. Ex: CRAP! You kicked up rocks and cracked my windshield.
Crawl Ratio
The lowest gear ratio in a truck, found by multiplying (the First-gear ratio)x(the low-range ratio)x(the axle ratio).
CV Shaft
Constant Velocity Shaft: AKA Double Cardan Shafts: Specialty drive shafts using two u-joints. Allows for steeper drive shaft angles.
